The Asian Association of Law Professors (AALP) is a not-for-profit consortium of institutions and individuals from around the world connected to Asia. Following the successful completion of the 1st and 2nd Conferences, AALP is proud to present its 3rd Conference with the theme for the 2024 Conference being “Decolonizing Law and Justice: Embracing Diverse Perspective of International Law including Climate Justice” .

Sub Themes:

  • Concept and Principles of Decolonization of International Law
  • Discussion on the Rule of International Law and the Shift of Global Power to Multilateral Actors
  • Stressing the role of Climate Justice as a major issue of International Law and Social Justice
  • South Asian, South East Asian, Central Asian  and Middle East Perspectives of International Law
  • Human Rights and Post-Colonial Realities
  • Decolonizing International Law and the Role of TWAIL
  • Legal Transplantations and Decolonizing Commercial Law
  • Human Security with International Law with Reference to Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine Conflict
  • Role of AI in Shaping the Indigenous Knowledge Systems
  • Indigenous Approaches to Biodiversity Conservation 

The Abstracts must be within the stated theme and sub-themes. The abstract should not exceed a word limit of more than 400 words.

Selected papers after the conference will be published as edited book volume or will be considered for Kathmandu School of Law Review (KSLR) or Asian Journal of International Affairs (AJIA) after double blind peer review process.  

Conference Registration Fee

Registration Fee for International Paper Presenters/Participants: USD 200 inclusive of food and accommodation.

Registration Fee for Nepalese Paper Presenter/Participants: NPR 5500/-

Unfortunately, this is a collaborative organisation and there is no funding available for registration fee. Although, if you are AALP member, registration fee is reduced
